The Cisco Meraki MT40 is an inline smart power controller in the Meraki MT sensor family. Connected inline with a device’s power, it reports voltage, current, power and energy use to the Meraki dashboard, sends alerts, and lets you turn downstream power off and on remotely, helping you troubleshoot remote sites faster, respond to power outages and benchmark energy usage.
Key specifications
- Measures RMS voltage (up to 250 V), RMS current (12A max at 100-120VAC, 10A max at 200-240VAC), real power (up to 2400 W), apparent power, power factor and energy, each to ±1% accuracy
- Remote downstream power control, with a hardware Remote Control Lockout switch
- Connects over Bluetooth Low Energy (802.15.1, BLE 4.2) to compatible Meraki MR access points and MV smart cameras
- Metrics polled every 15 seconds and reported every 20 minutes, on a threshold violation or on demand
- Alerts via email, SMS, mobile push notifications and webhooks; APIs for custom integrations
- Requires a Meraki MT license (every dashboard organization includes five free MT licenses); power cables sold separately
